The Genting Group plans to sell condos in two planned towers starting next year and to sign a contract with a four-star hotel operator by year’s end.

Three towers situated on a pedestal will be located along the waterfront where The Miami Herald headquarters currently stands. Alongside it will be a 50-foot wide promenade that will have a boardwalk under Interstate 395 that connects Genting’s Resorts World Miami project to Museum Park, where the art and science museums are being built.

The Herald reports that parks will be located on both the south and north side of the property, the latter having some retail.

To get the project going, Genting plans to have the site demolished or bulldozed, and vacant, by the end of the year, according to the Herald.

Genting is also planning to rehabilitate the historic Boulevard Shops on Biscayne Boulevard, possibly turning them into two levels of shops with a planned opening sometime in the next two years.

Next door at the Omni Center, Genting is investing $15 million in a renovation that includes the Hilton Hotel and its ballrooms. It also hired Continental Real Estate Companies to find tenants for the office space, which has about 250,000 square feet available.
